Candice Heskey

Candice Heskey - Executive Director and Head of School

Bachelor of Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics), Master of Nutrition

Candice Heskey is a qualified Dermal Clinician with a history of extensive experience in the Health and Wellness industry, specialising in advanced treatment modalities and skin therapies. Beyond a deep practical and theoretical knowledge of the treatment of skin conditions, Candice also has experience in the management of multiple skin, cosmetic, and laser clinics.

Through her experience, Candice has developed a recognition of the need for qualifications within the industry. This passion and a strong focus on maintaining standards and integrity, along with implementation of evidence-based practice in skin and health management, led Candice to join ACHW.

In her role as Head of School, Candice has been heavily involved in the launch and management of ACHW, as well as the coordination and development of its higher education programs.

Terry Everitt, ACHW

Professor Terry Everitt - Facilitator

Diploma of Beauty Therapy, Bachelor of Health Science, Master of Education

Terry Everitt has been dedicated to professional development and the Clinical Aesthetics field since 1990. Acknowledged for his advanced expertise and education as a leading professional in the aesthetic training industry, Terry was awarded the title of Professor of Aesthetic Sciences in 2019.

Terry is an international lecturer and published author in excess of 200 articles for aesthetic journals both in Australia and internationally, much of which has revolved around the central theme of cosmetic chemistry, which Terry studied initially at UCLA, and evidence-based practice, relating to aesthetic practice and cosmetic medicine, while being a regular speaker at professional aesthetic conferences.

He assisted in developing the Bachelor of Applied Health Science (Clinical Aesthetics) from the initial curriculum development and headed the inaugural Course Advisory Committee. Terry wrote most of the bachelor’s degree and is the Senior Lecturer for both its delivery and the Associate Degree in Applied Health Science (Dermal Therapy).

Terry was the recipient of the prestigious and nationally recognised Services to Industry Award for his dedication to educational ideals and competencies in 2003 and has served the National Advisory Board of the Aesthetics Practitioners Advisory Network and the Journal Advisory Board for the Aesthetics Practitioners Journal since 2009.

Sinan Ali, ACHW

Dr Sinan Ali - Facilitator

Bachelor of Science, PhD in Stress Physiology

Dr Sinan Ali has worked as a full time academic since 1992, teaching in a variety of Biology subjects before moving to coordinate and teach human physiology subjects. At Macquarie University, Sinan led a dynamic research team examining all aspects of the human physiological response to stress and supervised many Honours, Masters, and PhD students in his laboratory.  

Sinan has published widely and presented at international conferences in the area of stress physiology and continues to collaborate with national and international researchers. He has extensive public University and private education teaching and administrative experience, has served as Director of many associated committees, and currently serves on the board of the Australian Spinal Research Foundation and is Chair of the Research Committee responsible for reviewing and allocating research funds for projects.

Sinan also has industry links in an advisory capacity, and his companies Salpath Functional Pathology and My Hormones and Me provides hormone analysis services to University researchers, integrative medicine practitioners, and aesthetics clinics, and provides direct services to consumers.

Ameer Soliman, ACHW

Ameer Soliman - Facilitator

Bachelor of Business, Graduate Diploma in Digital Marketing, Master of Business Administration

Ameer has over 20 years of experience in sectors such as Financial Services, Technology, Recruitment, Hospitality, and more. He has served on various boards, including four years as the Chairman of the charity, Yasminah’s Gift of Hope. He also founded four businesses and has worked in strategic marketing and executive leadership roles for multinational organisations like CPA Australia and Telstra Corporation, as well as mid-tier firms and start-up businesses.

Having proven success and strong business acumen, Ameer loves sharing this vital skill with students to help them identify potential future opportunities in the sector. As a former lecturer in the School of Marketing at University of Technology, Sydney and Western Sydney University, he also hopes to share his practical experience and strong background in business analysis, marketing, and strategy with students undertaking courses at the Australasian College of Health and Wellness.

Gay Wardie, ACHW

Gay Wardle - Facilitator

Gay Wardle is a businesswoman, coach, mentor, and an internationally recognised speaker and educator who was awarded “Educator of the Year” at the Australian Beauty Industry Awards in 2015. Gay has a passion for skin analysis, and she drives this agenda in both the national and international sphere.

Through her dedication and commitment to learning and teaching others, Gay has established herself as one of the most respected icons in the Clinical Aesthetics industry. Her work as an educator and practitioner was celebrated in 2014 when she was inducted into both the ABIA Hall of Fame and the Reed Exhibition Hall of Fame.

Christopher Apostolou, ACHW

Christopher Apostolou - Facilitator

Diploma of Beauty Therapy, Diploma of Medical Laboratory Technology,
Bachelor of Health Science

With over 20 years of practical and industry experience in clinical dermal therapies, Christopher has a diverse background as a facilitator, lecturer, clinical supervisor, mentor, and academic. He is passionate about medical aesthetics and has developed advanced knowledge in phototherapies and other energy-based technologies. Working for over a decade in surgical and allied health environments, he has experience working alongside world-renowned plastic surgeons in the management of complex skin conditions and surgical and trauma scars.

Christopher is currently furthering his expertise by studying a Master of Applied Science. In his role as a director of a cosmetic company, Christopher is an avid formulator, researcher, and developer of personal care products.
